A Conversation on Vedic Prayers and Yagnas

Sai Ram Dear National Presidents,

Please pass on this communication regarding an informative program by the Zonal Vedas and Sacred Chants Committee

Sairam Dear All, Sixty years ago, on the third day of the Dasara Festival (October 01, 1962), the first Veda Purusha Yajna was inaugurated by our Lord Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. In the discourse delivered on that auspicious occasion, Swami declared: “My task comprises protection of Vedas (Veda samrakshana), fostering Vedic scholars (vidwath poshana), and establishment of righteousness (dharmasthapana). All three are interdependent. Fostering Vedic scholars helps both the Vedas and dharma, so I assure them that their scholarship and sincerity will not go unrewarded. The era of neglect has ended”. Swami’s message to the devotees who wished to be part of this Vedic revival was, “Veda belongs to those who crave it, who know its value, who are afflicted with an insatiable thirst for it, who desire to practise it, and who are eager to derive the joy and calm that it can impart.”   It is the wish of the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, Zone 1, to keep this flame lit by Swami long ago alive in this part of the world. In this regard, Vedic Prayers and Yajnas are being organized between November 3rd to the 5th this year in Trinidad, by the members of Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, Trinidad and Tobago. As a prelude to this program, a discussion on Vedic Prayers and Yajnas is being offered at the Lotus Feet of our Lord during the auspicious occasion of Dasara. The first part of the conversation will be streamed on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 6:00 PM EST on the Zonal YouTube channel. The second part of the conversation will be streamed on Saturday, October 01, 2022, at 6:00 PM EST. Please click on the following links to watch the
